South Korean company NCSOFT has made an initial investment in Swedish studio Moon Rover Games. The investment amount is 3.5 million US dollars and is intended to create a cooperative shooter Project Aldous. Depending on the stage-by-stage development, cooperation options are discussed, including additional investments and publishing rights.
Moon Rover Games was founded in 2022 by gaming industry veterans who previously worked at DICE and Massive Entertainment, and participated in the creation of such games as Battlefield, Far Cry, Mirror’s Edge and Tom Clancy’s The Division. The studio’s first game will be Project Aldous, a cooperative first-person shooter developed in Unreal Engine 5 for PC and consoles.

Moon Rover Games, our first investment, is a high-potential company that is trying new things based on its experience in the shooter genre. Project Aldous will complement NCSOFT’s projects in of genre and region, and we expect this investment to help create regional development clusters around the world and expand the global market.
The investment in Moon Rover Games is the beginning of NCSOFT’s transformation. In August, we will announce equity and rights investments in domestic development studios, t expansion projects in Southeast Asia, and plans to drive Purple’s growth as a platform. We will continue to maintain the competitiveness of existing IPs and ensure the smooth launch of new games,” Byung Moo Park, CEO of NCSOFT.
