Gravity reported on the growth of revenue and operating profit in the first quarter of 2025

The South Korean company Gravity published financial results for the first quarter of 2025. According to the report, the revenue amounted to about 137.5 billion won (~ $ 98.3 million), and operating profit reached 24.7 billion won (~ $ 17.6 million). This means an increase in revenue by 6% compared to the previous quarter and 14.8% compared to the same period last year. The operating profit, although it turned out to be slightly lower compared to the same period last year, but increased by 55% compared to the previous quarter.

The main factor in growth was the successful expansion of the presence of the Ragnarok Online franchise in international markets. In particular, the game Ragnarok M: Classic, launched on February 14, 2025 in the countries of Southeast Asia, which took high positions in the App Store ratings, the second place in Thailand in the Philippines, made a significant contribution. Also, an additional income was provided by Ragnarok Idle Adventure Plus, represented in the global market. At the same time, a decrease in revenue in other games of the series in this region partially compensated for the general increase.

Gravity continues active international expansion in the current quarter. In April, the company released Snow Bros. 2 Special on Nintendo Switch and Steam, and also expanded the geography of the releases Ragnarok M: Classic and Ragnarok: Back to Glory. The other day, the Ragnarok X: Next Generation in America, Oceania and parts of Europe took place, and until the end of the second quarter it is planned to release in other European countries.

The company also announced its intention and further promoting the Ragnarok series in China, where Ragnarok: Back to Glory and Ragnarok: Dawn in the second half of the year are planned. In addition, the development and release of games on new platforms, including a PC and console, with an emphasis on original IP. So, in the coming months, Gravity plans to release Dragonica Origin and Gunbound for Southeast Asia and Latin America, as well as the Cat Farm Tycoon mobile game in the global market.

On the console platforms before the end of the year it is expected to exit such titles as The Good Old Days, Wizmans World Re; Try, Being of the Abyss and Light Odyssey.
