The developers of the multi - adventure Survival simulator Crosswind published a second production of a girl dedicated to the construction system. The team emphasized that the described mechanics are at the stage of active revision and may change in the following updates.
According to the developers, construction in Crosswind is built on the principles of simplicity, flexibility and expressiveness. Beginners will be available to quickly build shelters with the help of large modules and ready -made templates. For more experienced players, expanded tools are provided, such as arbitrary rotation of objects, accurate positioning on the Z axis and the disconnected binding of elements. Quick-Brush mode has also been introduced, which allows to continuously place structures using one mouse movement.
The system of progression of construction allows you to start with basic objects – sleeping bags, bonfires and awnings – and gradually move on to full -fledged fortified bases with handicraft machines and decorative elements. Each building can be adapted to the player’s style without effectiveness restrictions, since aesthetics and functionality work independently of each other. A system of integrity of buildings will also appear, limiting unrealistic constructions and contributing to the greater logic of the environment.
Additionally, the developers work on the technology of the visual merging of the modules in order to reduce the number of visual ts between the elements and make the buildings more solid and believable. Also, the game has been added to the game, primitive terraforming, which allows you to level the landscape for construction.
For players worried the safety of progress, protective mechanisms are provided. During the test, construction will be available only in safe areas, without raids and data loss. All the plot islands by default are private, accessible only in a single or cooperative game by invitation.

Finally, in the future, players will be able to accept the wandering NPCs who will offer tasks, materials or assistance in the development of the base. These elements will become part of the wider team system, combining adventures on land with life on board the ship.
The authors noted that the development of Crosswind is still ongoing and promised to reveal more details in future publications.
