Development of Daybreak Game Company’s MMORPG EverQuest 3 is still in its early stages. This became known from interview on the MinMax YouTube channel with Kevin Leedy, lead artist and designer, and Jenn Chan, studio head and executive producer of the series.
The developers have confirmed that the game is in development and is billed as “a reboot of the original with modern graphics, gameplay and style, but should feel familiar enough that fans will immediately recognize the world.” However, the project is in the early stages of creation and has not even ed the concept phase. In the future, all current ideas may be completely abandoned and the concept completely reconsidered.
As for the name EverQuest 3, the developers most likely will not dare to leave it. This is due to the fact that “EverQuest 2 was kind of a curse” because players were supposed to move to a new game, but this did not happen. It is likely that in the end they will choose something neutral and not related to numbering.
Let us recall that in September 2023, the Enad Global 7 holding announced plans to create EverQuest 3 and announced the expected release year – 2028. However, given the current development status, it can be assumed that the game may be late for the planned date.
