Pearl Abyss shared the current development status of the action game Crimson Desert as part of its financial report for the second quarter of 2024. At the moment, the game is almost ready, and the team is busy optimizing and adding content. The release date still cannot be announced, as it will depend, among other things, on the received at gaming exhibitions:
- A demo version designed for half an hour of play is being prepared for gamescom 2024. And for fans who will not be able to attend the exhibition, an hour-long gameplay recording will be published, which will show the main elements of the game.
- In November 2024, Pearl Abyss will take part in the Korean gaming exhibition G-Star 2024, where visitors will be able to play Crimson Desert.
When asked by investors regarding international agreements on publishing the game, a company representative replied that Pearl Abyss plans to independently publish the game, since over the past few years it has accumulated extensive experience in this business.
As for financial indicators, income from MMORPG Black Desert decreased slightly. But the MMORPG EVE Online showed good profit growth due to the release of the Equinox update. In total, the company’s net profit for the second quarter was $6.6 million (9.1 billion won).
