Pearl Abyss strengthens the world’s position – Crimson Desert will become a key project of the studio

The South Korean Studio Pearl Abyss, known for the MMORPG Black Desert, plans to gain a foothold in the status of one of the leading global developers by launching the expected Role Crimson Desert and stable for existing franchises. The team is focused on expanding influence outside the domestic market, continuing adaptation to global trends.

In 2024, the key activities were the promotion of Crimson Desert, for the Black Desert and EVE intellectual itself, as well as preparation for new releases. One of the significant events was the launch of Black Desert in China, which contributed to an increase in the total revenue of IP to 2.6 trillion of Korean won. In addition, in October, the EVE Galaxy Conquest mobile strategy was published, and in December, the preliminary sale of access to EVE FronTier has started.

Despite the operational loss of 12.3 billion won, Pearl Abyss completed a year with a net profit of 60.3 billion won, which is associated with financial transactions and the sale of assets. The total revenue amounted to 342.4 billion won, showing an increase of 2.7% compared to the previous year. The main part of the income (81.4%) provided foreign markets. Asia was especially distinguished, where revenue increased by more than 30% thanks to the Chinese launch. At the same time, a decrease in almost 17%was recorded on the domestic market.

In 2025, the studio will continue to develop the IP Black Desert with updates for both console and mobile versions, including the adaptation of the project to a new generation of consoles. However, the main attention will be focused on Crimson Desert, whose release is scheduled for the fourth quarter. The game was shown at international events, such as Gamescom, GDC and showcases in the UK and Benilyux countries.

Pearl Abyss also considers participation in the exhibitions Gamescom, G-Star and Tokyo Game Show. After the release of Crimson Desert, the studio plans to activate work on Dokev and Plan 8, continuing to form a line of high -budget games with an eye on the world audience.
