During the annual event, Minecraft Live 2025 Mojang presented a number of large innovations for the popular sandbox Minecraft. These include new mechanics, visual improvements and seasonal game events.
The first update of the year will be Spring to Life, which will be released on March 25. It will add more atmospheric details to biomes, new sound effects and variations of classic creatures, such as cows, pigs and chickens. In addition, unique objects will appear, including a sparkling bush of fireflies, falling leaves and a whisper of sand.
The second update, the name of which has not yet been announced, will offer the players the new Dried Ghast block, which can be reanimated to create a new variety of a mob – Ghastling. Over time, Ghastling turns into Happy Ghast, a flying creature capable of transporting up to four players. To control you will need a special harness. Mojang notes that this mechanics will help builders in survival mode, allowing them to freely move in the air without the need to use the creative mode.
One of the main announcements was the Vibrant Visuals visual update, which will be the first stage in the modernization of Minecraft graphics. Improvements include directional lighting, volumetric fog, pixel shadows and realistic reflection on the water. At the same time, the gameplay will remain unchanged, and new effects can be turned off if desired. First of all, the update will become available for Bedrock Edition, and later it will be released for Java Edition.
In addition, Mojang announced the intra -game event associated with the film “Minecraft in the Cinema.” It starts on March 25 and will last until April 7. Players will go to Midport Village, where they will Steve and his companions, protecting the village from the invasion of the Qaglins in the Mini-IGR series. The developers also confirmed that they do not plan to release Minecraft 2, make the game free or introduce generative artificial intelligence into development. Mojang intends to continue to develop the original minecraft, combining a classic style with modern technological improvements.
