As soon as we published an article with all the known information about the new game Project: Star in the universe of the closed MMORPG Blue Protocol, a lot of new details immediately appeared on the Internet. They were shared by the istration of the Blue Protocol Database fan community, which scoured Chinese forums and collected from testers. We invite you to familiarize yourself with the results of their research in this article.
World
- There are no loading screens between zones in the game, unless you are moving or teleporting to another map or city.
- The world features a variety of jumping/parkour/swimming puzzles and several quests with a quiz-like system.
- Drops from monsters, materials for collecting and catching fish can be used for cooking, which requires energy.
- Energy is replenished over time.
- Energy potions can be purchased at the guild store.
- Some Battle tiers also reward you with Energy Potions.
- Food does not provide stacking buffs or healing effects.
- You can fish in the open world.
- The open world has chests that can be opened after completing mini-quests, reminiscent of Genshin Impact.
- Wall running is available, allowing you to climb obstacles and mountains.
Progression
- You can increase the level of individual skills.
- Leveling up does not depend on randomness and is guaranteed to be available for materials.
- Some materials can be obtained by dismantling equipment.
- Some materials can also be purchased in the in-game store for real money.
- There is a ive talent tree, separate from the skill system.
- Some testers believe that each class can include 3 talent branches (subclasses). The information has not yet been confirmed 100%.
- Players have jumping and sliding skills, each with their own skill tree.
- There are 3 fixed skills (possibly based on class/specialization), 3 slots for other skills (you can use any skill from your class tree) and 2 slots for B-imagines.
- The equipment consists of 11 items (4 armor, ring, earring, necklace, 2 bracelets, 1 talisman, 1 weapon).
- Armor and weapons cannot be crafted; they can be obtained as drops or rewards.
- You can equip an item similar to ability stones in Lost Ark. It has up to 2 positive and 1 negative nodes, depending on the rarity. You need to strive to get points in the positive. With a certain number of successes on two positive nodes, you will unlock additional ive effects.
Content/Dungeons
- The content seems to be similar to the Japanese version in that you get GC and medals. They can be exchanged for costumes and other items.
- Each class has its own challenges based on its role (tank/DPS/healer). These are likely single-player challenges, similar to the adventure ranks from the Japanese version.
- The “Looking for a Group” ad can be placed on a list, just like in the Japanese version.
- Dungeons vary in difficulty.
- Standard difficulty dungeons can be completed alone or with several players, but harder ones require at least three people.
- There are also 20-player raids, which require at least 12 players.
- Boss monsters in dungeons have their own behavior patterns. Some special attacks are marked with a timer.
- Bosses still have what appears to be an elemental/stun gauge.
- Dungeons contain additional tasks that can be completed for additional rewards.
- There are frames of invulnerability when dodging. Perfect dodging is indicated by a special animation.
- Special patterns provide visual cues that make evasion easier.
- Defeating world bosses rewards you with materials to improve your skills and talents.
- World boss raids have a contribution meter similar to a DPS meter. The reward depends on your contribution.
- The combat UI seems much better and less cluttered with debuff icons compared to the Japanese version.
Mechanics
- The game has a book with recommendations for beginners, which helps to progress, and also rewards additional materials at certain stages.
- An achievement system is available, which in some ways replaces adventure boards. Some achievements reward unique costumes.
- Unlocking an additional class requires an item from the in-game store. But once you use it and complete the quest to unlock an additional class for your character, you will be able to freely switch between the unlocked classes.
- Let’s say you play with an aegis, but want to try yourself as an archer. You will unlock the Archer by using items from the in-game store. From now on, you can switch between these classes whenever you want.
- The character level remains the same, but the class talent level must be increased separately.
- Auction: Items such as weapons, equipment, crafting materials, upgrades and clothing are available for trading.
- The main trading currency is Luno (in-game currency). You can also exchange it for tethered pink orbs placed by other players.
- Each player has an Adventure Card ID, similar to the Japanese version.
Cosmetics and more
- You can view the costumes.
- You can color costumes using the color wheel.
- Completing some tasks can reward you with cosmetic items.
- In camera mode, there is a “selfie mode” option.
- There is a “Language” setting in the options, which could be a hint for release outside of China.
It’s worth noting that the current closed beta testing of Project: Star is taking place in China under a strict NDA, so much of the above may change before release.
