The Snapshot Games studio officially introduced Frosthaven, a video game adaptation of the Frosty Harbor board game, created by Isac Childers. The development of the project is led by Julian Gollop, known as the author of the X-Com, and Childers himself acts as a consultant.
Frosthaven is a tactical RPG in the genre of dark fantasy with the possibility of single and cooperative age. The project will become the spiritual heir to Gloomhaven and invite players to explore the harsh northern lands filled with dangers and capabilities. The game provides for a detailed training mode and a flexible system of complexity levels, allowing to immerse themselves in the adventures of both experienced fans of the series and beginners.
Frosthaven will offer a deep tactical combat system based on card skills that allow you to combine attacks, create effective strategies and survive in cruel battles. An important part of the gaming process will be the development of the settlement: players will have to build and improve buildings in order to receive new opportunities. The campaign will unfold in a huge world with dynamic seasons, various bioms and complex opponents. In early access, more than 35 quests will be presented, and in the future it is planned to expand content to 130 tasks.
Frosthaven closed beta testing will be held on Steam from March 27 to April 24, 2025. At this stage, players will be able to choose one of the six starting classes of characters, go through training quests, get acquainted with step -by -step battles, explore the elements of resource and construction management, and also perform 20 basic tasks.
