Koei Tecmo shared the details of the cessation of for the global version of the step -by -rray game Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator. General producer Junzo Hosoi in a recent interview with the Japanese game portal 4gamer.net revealed the key factors standing behind this decision.
The main reason for the closure, according to Hosoi, was financial indicators. The project turned out to be “difficult to business”, and this made his further inappropriate. The representative of Koei Tecmo also suggested that certain elements of the game could be difficult to perceive and did not cause proper interest among foreign players.
Another important factor was the delay in the release of content. The global version of the game lagged behind Japanese by three months, which, according to the developer, led to the inconsistency between the expectations of the international audience and the pace of updates, which players who follow the Japanese market are used to. In addition, as noted, due to the need to transfer and policy of maintaining maximum content of content, the global version did not receive unique functions or changes.
Hosoi said that individual teams worked on two versions, so the termination of the game in the international market will have a minimal impact on the development of the project in Japan, which continues to successfully function.
