The CD Projekt RED studio introduced the first frames of the gameplay from the technical demonstration of its future role -playing game “Witcher 4” as part of the State of Unreal 2025 event. Video and screenshots published by developers demonstrate visual and technical aspects of the project, which is still only in the early stage.
The authors emphasized that this is not a full -fledged “Witcher 4” gameplay, namely Technodemo – a demonstration of technologies that will be used when creating a game. Therefore, it is possible that in the release version of the schedule it will look different. The events of the video unfold in the Kovir region, one of the locations of the future game. The frames shown Ciri that executing an order on the monster, which moves riding through the mountains and forests, and then arrives in the port city of Valdrest.
During the presentation of CD Projekt Red, together with Epic Games, they talked about the new technologies of the Unreal Engine 5.6 engine, integrated into the Witcher 4. Among them are Unreal Animation Framework, which provides realistic animation of characters in dynamic scenes, Fastgeo Streaming, which allows you to quickly load large locations, and Nanite Foliage, which creates detailed natural encirclements without loss of performance. In addition, MASS AI and ML Deformer provide realistic behavior of NPC crowds and more accurate animation of the movements of the character muscles, respectively.
Technodemo worked on the basic version of the PlayStation 5 console with a frequency of 60 frames per second and on the trace of rays, demonstrating stable performance
