The now closed studio Arkane Austin has released the fourth and final update for the cooperative first-person shooter Redfall. The update added an offline mode, so you will no longer need a constant Internet connection to complete the campaign. In addition, when playing in single player mode, you can now pause the game.
With the release of the update, Redfall introduced a reputation system called “Position in Society.” It increases when opening a new shelter, completing tasks in the shelter, saving civilians or killing bosses. This way you can earn currency to unlock new rewards from a special skill tree. There are six community ranks, providing 39 unique ones in the form of permanent ive buffs. As you progress through the skill tree, the bonuses become more effective.
The patch also added a new location, the Dragon’s Nest, with new enemies and rewards, improved the artificial intelligence of opponents, made changes to the story mode, and much more. However, the developers, unfortunately, did not share the full list of changes.
