Mainframe Industries shared the details of the “fundamental” changes in the combat system and RPG elements in the PAX Dei MMORPG-sandwich. The updated system will become part of a large patch called Path of the Adventurr, the release of which should take place in the near future.

According to the developers, earlier the combat system lacked depths: the tactical possibilities were limited, and the choice of equipment was very scarce. The team spent about six months to solve these problems. Briefly analyze the main changes.

Each item will have a characteristic of Item Power, which depends on both the quality of equipment and the level of your combat skill. For the murder of enemies, combat experience will be accrued, which directly affects the increase in the level of certain skills of owning weapons and armor. The stronger the enemy, the more experience the character receives. When playing in the group, the experience is divided between the allies located nearby, especially in the case of battles with veterans – especially strong opponents marked by the skull.

All these changes make the character development of the character more visual, meaningful and dependent on the skills of the character.

The armor becomes more important

All armor classes were redesigned to highlight the features of combat roles:

  • Heavy armor: High physical stability, an increased level of AGRO generation, blocking bonuses, effective resistance to control skills. Items of this type include skills aimed at increasing survival and opponent control.
  • Average armor: A balanced combination of survival and damage. Skills and spells in these objects are concentrated on applying damage in battle.
  • Light armor: The smallest level of protection, but at the same time the highest damage and the effectiveness of healing. Contains skills and spells oriented towards healers and spells.

In total, 36 unique skills for four armor items have been added at the moment. These changes will allow you to create characters of both classic roles and hybrid ones, which will be strong due to synergy of bonuses of different equipment.

Changes in weapons

Now each weapon provides three unique special attacks that give it individuality and form your combat style. For example:

  • Interrupt – the skill of a one -handed sword allows you to interrupt the reading of the enemy’s spell and apply the Silence effect by 2 seconds.
  • Guard Breaker – the skill of a two -handed sword, is able to break through the blocks and stun opponents.
  • Sunder is the skill of a two -handed ax that causes damage and reducing the physical protection of the target.

New abilities added to the objects of equipment consume the resource “Spirit”. It is common to all classes – if you were a magician, a near -battle fighter or an archer. According to the developers, this should give players more control in battle and add tactical depths.

  • Global rebalass of the complexity of the game was carried out. Progress is now felt more smooth, and complex content (for example, dungeons) has become even more demanding.
  • AI-TAME now uses an improved algorithm for finding a path. Movement errors are eliminated: there will no longer be sudden teleportations directly to the player.
  • The aggression system was processed. Tanks became easier to keep the attention of enemies with the help of new spells and weapons, such as maces (Maces) and heavy hammers (GreatMauls).
  • Improved interface. Now he displays the resource “Spirit” and provides advanced opportunities for choosing goals.
  • A new standard keyboard layout has been added, which provides quick access to all key abilities.

The developers emphasize that this is only the beginning of changes. In the future, further development of the combat system and RPG mechanics are planned: unique and carefully worked out objects will appear, and the Luta loss system will be processed so that players can more effectively form their play style and receive a more fair reward.
